I had my LASIK at 10:00 yesterday. I was scared to death. They gave me 10mg of valium and I was feeling good! I was singing and dancing. I don't know if it was the valium or what but that was the coolest thing I have ever experienced. The laser made all kinds of pretty colors. When the flap was lifted off of my cornea, or wherever it comes off of, it was bizarre. I really was blind during the procedure for a few seconds but they warned me it would happen so I was okay with it. I think it was the valium. Anyway, I went for my check-up this morning and I already see 20/20. I'm still having a bit of trouble seeing up close but that's because my eyes are still dialated. I can't go outside either. Sunlight kills!

Congratulations. I'm glad it went well. Now Jess has to quit caLling you that blind bat behind your back. I told her it wasn't nice! Lol!

I can go in the sun. I didn't want to the first day because my eyes were so dilated it hurt. Yesterday I was outside all day. I sat at the pool with the kids. I had to be careful not to get pool water in my eyes but otherwise I was fine.

This is the best thing I could have ever done. I couldn't be happier with it!

How are your eyes now?

This is seriously the best thing I could have ever done for myself. I can see so much better than I ever could with contacts in. I keep thinking I should have done this years ago. But then I tell myself not really because the technology wasn't there.

I use the last of my eye drops today and I slept in my eye shields for the last time last night. Now its time to get back to normal.

I'm not allowed to rub my eyes for 2 months! That flap that they cut could come loose. I have accidentally reached up to rub my eyes a few times and IT HURTS!!!! I makes me wonder what it would feel like if I really did tear the flap loose. SCARY!!!!! It's also really hard at the pool because I can't get pool water in my eyes because of the bacteria. It seems like I'm getting splashed more now then I ever have.

Me too. That's why I'm having a hard time. I rub my eyes unconsciously. I'd be driving and rub my contacts right out of my eyes. That was really bad because I couldn't see a thing! I'd have to pray that I was making it to the side of the road.

For the first few days I didn't want to rub my eye. These last few days have been hard though. My eyes are starting to get itchy so I just reach up without thinking to rub. I barely touch it a little too hard though and it hurts so I stop. If they don't hurt when I touch them for the next 2 months, I'll be in trouble.
